Situation Critical for newly arrived migrants in Lampedusa, Italy

Hundreds of migrants have recently arrived on the island of Lampedusa, Italy, after fleeing attacks by the Islamic State in Libya. The Temporary Permanence Center of Lampedusa, which was designed to accommodate 250 people, currently holds about 1,200 migrants following the rescue of 2,000 in the Mediterranean Sea between Lampedusa and the Libyan coast on Feb. 15.
