Iggy Azalea asked about breast implants by a child, gives strong answer.

The red carpet is usually a sanitised location where celebrities can expect to bat away relatively tame questions, the red carpet at the Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards especially so.

So when rapper Iggy Azalea, days after revealing to Vogue she had undergone breast augmentation surgery, was quizzed by ten-year-old reporter/child actor Nicolas Bechtel she could have been forgiven by being taken aback by his question:
Iggy Azalea
You talked about getting some work done. Why did you feel the need to be open and tell people? The 24-year-old was a bit incredulous but, to her credit, recovered to give something of an empowering response:

I didn’t think you’d be the one asking me this question. But just because I think it’s so common.

And I knew so many people in my regular life that had done it and had a good experience and I never see any celebrities talk about it. Although I know 80 per cent of them have done it, too.

And I wanted to kind of tell women that might be thinking about my experience and that it can not necessarily be a bad thing, that’s why I did it.

As Julie Zeilinger of US website Mic notes: “Whether Azalea’s ecision to have plastic surgery is itself a feminist act is up for debate. Her approach to discussing it openly and honestly with the media, however, is a clear step forward in the context of a society that often holds women to impossible double standards and immerses them in shame in all matters related to their bodies.”
