Chris Martin promises fireworks

Jamaican star Chris Martin, who jetted into the country on Wednesday, has promised fireworks at his show at Glamis Arena tonight.

Martin will share the stage with Winky D, Jah Prayzah, Ninja Lipsy and many wheel spinners that will square off in a sound clash.

Speaking after touching down at Harare International Airport on Wednesday evening, the musician appreciated Zimbabweans for their love and promised to reciprocate through an outstanding performance.

“This is my first time in Zimbabwe and the love of the people here is amazing. I have been receiving messages on my Facebook page, twitter and Instagram from Zimbabweans showing much love,” he said.

“We are geared up together with my guys and we are going to have a powerful performance. I will be a night of fireworks as we drop our hits and sample new songs. I am happy that I am finally in Zimbabwe to meet my fans here.”

He went on to meet and salute hundreds of music lovers that thronged the airport to welcome him.

Show organisers said all has been put in place for the show and people should come in their numbers to support the musician. Barbara Chikosi of Red Rose Entertainment, one of the organisers, said the stage has been set for the show.

“We are home and dry. Everything is in place. As you can see the artiste is here and he has promised fireworks at the show. We have set the stage for a big party at ‘Together as One Concert,” she said.

Jah Prayzah also promised a memorable event through his manager Keen Mushapaidze.

“We have a lot for our fans and that is a good platform for them to know that Jah Prayzah is a versatile artist,” he said.

Jah Prayzah is already playing songs from his coming album “Mudhara Vachauya” that is likely to spur the musician’s career higher. On a dancehall note Winky D is expected to belt out his hit songs.

He has songs that include “Disappear”, “Mudhara Vauya”, “Gafa Life” and “Machikichori” among others.

Ninja Lipsy promised to stand for female musicians at the show.

A sound clash featuring almost 15 sound houses will also take place at the show. Judgement Yard will lead the clash that will also have the likes of Fyah Links, Legendary Sounds, Mighty Ducks, Stan Splash, Body Slam, Digital One and Silverstone among others.
