Zuma must carry his yoke alone, says ANC secretary-general Gwede Mantashe

Don’t worry South Africa, ANC secretary-general Gwede Mantashe has got your back. In a recent briefing at Luthuli house, Mantashe told journalists and people attending a press conference that Zuma must pay alone.

According to Mantashe, the Constitutional Court was clear that Zuma had to pay the money he used to build Nkandla, personally.

This comes after a few structures and individuals across the country started making efforts and even opening a trust fund to help Zuma repay his debt.

According to Sowetan, since last month Mpumalanga premier David Mabuza has been leading the campaign to raise funds to help Zuma. A region in his province, Ehlanzeni, has decided to set up a trust account to help Zuma.

North West and Free State, led by Zuma allies Supra Mahumapelo and Ace Magashule respectively, have also indicated they would support the president in paying for the Nkandla costs.

Mantashe continued to say that those trying to help Zuma, are actually destroying him out of love, he is supposed to pay the money alone.
