Open Letter To Dr. Jules Clement Assob and Dr. Fronkam Who Sent Threat Messages To Their UB Students

To Whom It May Concern

Dr. JULES CLEMENT ASSOB, HOD Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences University of Buea, and Dr. Fonkam have since today been sending threatening messages through SMS to their students to begin school tomorrow or considered themselves dismissed from UB. A lot of these students have written to us. It is important we call the attention of these few lecturers.

Dr. Fonkam is even forcing students to disrespect ghost towns tomorrow and come to school. When will these lecturers learn? I am afraid to say these are Francophone lecturers-why must it come from you always? Aren't you concerned that your colleagues are in jails and that the people of West Cameroon are in a struggle? UB students are not kids and people do not just get dismiss anyhow. If you are from UB and you read us, please if you receive any text from a lecturer threatening you to go against the people's struggle, let us know immediately by emailing This must stop. UB students should keep staying home until we must have mapped a way forward to secure our education even after graduation. No UB students should fall to the crap from any lecturer whether Anglophone or Francophone.
