Tottenham Sell Clinton Njie To Marseille After Failing To Make An Impact

Tottenham have confirmed they have reached an agreement for Clinton Njie to join French side Marseille on a permanent basis.

The Cameroon international spent last season on loan at the Ligue 1 side, and returns to France two years after arriving at Spurs in £12million deal.

But the forward, who struggled with injuries in his first season in England, failed to make an impact under Mauricio Pochettino and leaves the club having only made eight appearances.

Njie is the third player to leave Spurs in as many days, following Kyle Walker’s £50m move to Manchester City and Federico Fazio to AS Roma.

Tottenham tweeted: "We have reached agreement with @OM-Officiel for the permanent transfer of Clinton Njie. We wish Clinton all the best for the future."
