This Is Not extradition - It Is A Kidnapping Arrangement Between Nigeria and Cameroon, Says Barrister Fru John Soh

Many Cameroonians including Barriseter Fru John Soh are still confused in their attempts to solve the complex equation that led to the extradition individuals with refugee status without passing through a court.

Over Equinox radio this morning, Barrister Fru John Soh said Cameroon Anglophones are no longer save in Africa. He has termed it a kidnapping arrangement between Nigeria and Cameroon.

“It is an unfortunate incident for Africa, the world, Cameroon and Nigeria. This extradition means that United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees UNHCR means nothing any more; it also means that if you are being pursued by a dictator in this Africa Continent particularly in our zone you have no means to run; it means that our refugees who are in Nigeria are not safe; it means that we are on our own; it means that Anglophone Cameroonians have become an endangered species in this part of the world” says Barrister Fru John Soh.

Even before their trial, the Minister of Communication Issa Tchiroma Bakary had qualified the extradited Ambazonian Leaders as terrorists. He made the declarations during a press conference Yesterday in the Nation’s Capital Cameroon after confirming that they were now in the hands of the Cameroonian judiciary to face the law for their crimes. Reacting to the fact that the Minister of Communication of Cameroon Issa Tchiroma Bakari already qualified the extradited Anglophones as terrorists, the Barrister had the following to say:

“All Anglophones now have become terrorists, because if you have a different political point of view and they pursue you, you have no way to run. You become a terrorist in Nigeria and a terrorist in Cameroon, and since Cameroon and Nigeria borders that part of English Cameroon, no English Speaking Cameroonian has any place to run to. This extradition also mean that those who were running away from persecution have been brought back here to be slaughtered. I hope the world and the so called African Union and United Nations is watching.

United Nations today means nothing for Africa, because if UNHCR cannot be of any use for those who have been persecuted politically, then I don’t know what we are talking about” says the Barrister. ‘This is not an extradition, this is a kidnapping arrangement between Nigeria and Cameroon; extradition has to go through the court anywhere in the world and it is only decided by the court.
