Maurice Kamto says that the management of social demands in Cameroon is catastrophic. "There is a real contempt for youth," he says, before adding: "When there are repeated crises in a country, it is not a sign of good economic or social health : there is a real malaise. "

In view of this situation, the politician demands that Cameroonians massively plebiscite the opposition in the upcoming elections, to give "an honorable exit" to the regime in place. To do this, he called for an "opposition coalition" around his candidacy, and said he was opposed to "a single opposition candidacy".

"On the occasion of each election it is said if the opposition does not have a single candidate it will fail. In fact it is to sign immediately the failure of the opposition because we know that there will never be a single candidate. And even if the opposition manages to find a single candidate, the power will elicit other candidates so there are no single candidates, "he says.

The leader of the MRC nevertheless points out that he is not yet the candidate of his party, and that he will run for the primaries to be held in April, during the convention. "I am a candidate for membership in my political party. I hope that on the occasion of the convention of my party, convention which is held in ordinary session on April 13th, 14th and 15th, I will be able to count on the confidence of my comrades to invest me as their candidate ", he says.

After having declared forfeit for senatorial elections, Maurice Kamto reassures that his party will indeed participate in other upcoming events namely the legislative and the presidential elections.
