Activists Patrice Nouma And Boris Bertolt Found Guilty Of Fraud And Corruption As Both Face Charges

Heavy suspicions weigh on two of Cameroon's most active activists in the fight against Paul Biya's regime.

The integrity of the former military Patrice Nouma and journalist and whistleblower Boris Bertolt, reputed for their fight for sanitation in their homes from abroad, is questioned by information disseminated in recent days on the Internet .

Patrice Nouma was accused by a French couple of extorting the sum of 4500 Euros (about 3 million CFA francs). Ms. Bossu, of Cameroonian origin, brought this accusation on the web tv Jmtv + belonging to the Franco-Cameroonian journalist Jacky Moiffo. In this element posted on March 28, 2018, she said that she sent this sum to Patrice Nouma at her request, the goal being to obtain a visa for her son graduated from IRIC (Institute of International Relations of Cameroon) and find work in America in UN institutions or at the World Bank.

Boris Bertolt was accused of a telephone conversation. Jacky Moiffo who put the soundtrack explains that it is an interview between him and the other activist anti-Biya Junior Zogo. It is the voice that answers him on the other end of the line, presented as that of the former Commissioner of the Cameroonian police who indicates that the former daily Le Jour has received 25 000 dollars (About 13 million CFA francs ) to destroy Georges Gilbert Baongla, a politician who calls himself "the son of the President of the Republic of Cameroon" Paul Biya. The sound element bearing the accusation attributed to Junior Zogo is made public following the reaction of the former police officer who attacked Jacky Moiffo on the web.

He accused the journalist Facebook of being bought by the power of Yaoundé in order to destabilize the Cameroon Transitional Council (CTC) which Patrice Nouma is the president and to which he belongs. He also claimed that Moiffo intentionally targeted the Beti of this organization. In response Moiffo will put on the Internet the content of some of his telephone conversations with Zogo. In one of them the voice attributed to Zogo admits that Nouma is accused of fraud but specifies that it concerns only him and not the CCT. Jacky Moiffo explains that he puts on the public square his private telephone conversations to contradict his accuser and especially to show that it is not him who indexes Patrice Nouma, but his alleged victims.
