MDC Alliance Leader Nelson Chamisa Attacks President Emmerson Mnangagwa

MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa has attacked and accused President Emmerson Mnangagwa of personalising Zimbabwe and planning to steal the July 30 harmonised election through the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC).

Addressing demonstrators after handing a petition to ZEC in Harare today, Advocate Chamisa threatened to disrupt the coming elections if his alleged reforms are not addressed by ZEC.

He also said he will announce the result himself as he does not trust ZEC, the elections mother body that is constitutionally mandated to administer elections in Zimbabwe.

Chamisa also skirted on diplomatic etiquette alleging that Zanu PF has brought in Russians to assist the party to rig and further said his Alliance is bringing in Germany scientists to counter the Russians.

Earlier on Chamisa had said that no foreigner should interfere with the Zimbabwean elections.

The MDC Alliance had earlier on marched to the electoral mother body headquarters and delivered its demands.
Among the demands are the issue of the ballot papers where the opposition group is demanding to know who is providing the ballot paper, where it will be printed, the design and who is going to be responsible for its delivery to the polling stations.

ZEC has already published that Fidelity Printers are printing the ballot papers together with Printflow.

The different political parties representatives have also been taken to the printers and shown the process.

The second grievance is to do with the voters roll where the Alliance is saying it wants an analysable voters’ roll.

ZEC insists that they are already providing stakeholders with an analysable and searchable voters’ roll which provides the name, sex and surname of the voter.

He said the voters roll with a picture which is not analysable as it is on a pdf format will be at the polling stations on voting day.
