Akon Ready For Big Zimbabwe Return As Ginimbi Secures Gig

Businessman and trendsetter, Genius Ginimbi Kadungure has stated that he had an agreement with ‘African Giant’ Akon for a return to Harare to perform.

Ginimbi who was in the United States over the past two weeks, got a chance to hook up with Akon in Los Angeles and they later traveled together to Dubai where the RnB artist was performing.

Finer details on Akon’s gig are dependent upon the availability of foreign currency which is currently scarce and not enough for the country’s pressing requirements.

Akon once performed in the country in 2010 at the National Sports Stadium courtesy of the late Prince Tendai Mupfurutsa.

Ginimbi confirmed on the developments.

“Akon is now my guy. We had fruitful discussions when we met in Los Angeles and we later had a 12 hour flight to Dubai.
We are now in a position where all that’s needed is agreeing on the actual dates for a performance but the only problem is on my side because the foreign currency situation in the country at the moment makes it impossible to host an international artist like Akon.

The costs are not manageable and no one would get into a loss-making transaction fully aware. I am hoping the situation improves and we will be able to access foreign currency that is needed for the show” he said

The show will not be held under current forex challenges.
