Support For #CherlyZondi As She Wraps Up Her Testimony Against Tim Omotoso

Defence attorney Peter Daubermann had to be reprimanded by Judge Mandela Makaula in the Tim Omotoso trial for badgering the witness.

Cheryl Zondi wrapped up her testimony against Nigerian pastor Timothy Omotoso. He is facing charges ranging from human trafficking to sexual assault and rape.

Judge Makaula found some of Daubermann's questions to be inappropriate.

Daubermann asked Zondi more than twice how many centimetres Omotoso had penetrated her after she specifically said he had only partially penetrated her vaginally.

There were instances where he stepped into very pornographic territory like when he asked about how deeply Omotoso penetrated the witness. There I think he clearly crossed the line.— Lisa Vetten, Research associate at Wits Institute For Social Economic Research (Wiser)

Zondi is quite an inspiration. She does show how you can deal with a very difficult experience like this and still and stand cross-examination.— Lisa Vetten, Research associate at Wits Institute For Social Economic Research (Wiser)

If anything, I think she is putting Daubermann in a bad light because people are looking at him and saying this is unfair of him.— Lisa Vetten, Research associate at Wits Institute For Social Economic Research (Wiser)
